All About Sense

It was just an ordinary weekend in June.

As fate would have it, my fun-loving friend Lola decided to hit town and promptly summoned me to be her local "food guide". Returning to her hometown from KL, it has always been the cool thing to dash straight for the local culinary delights. Understandably so, as food has always been one of the most memorable things we remember during our growing up years!

Staying at one of the more significant hotels in town, Sense Hotel (formerly known as Tune Hotels), I made my way there to pick her up. I had previously visited the place before the branding switch, but had no idea what a refreshing change their recent refurbishment had resulted in.

Facade of Sense Hotel Taiping

Strategically located right opposite the “hottest” hypermarket in town (Tesco) and everybody’s favourite “neighbourhood” shopping mall (Taiping Sentral Mall), it was easy to find a parking spot on a Saturday afternoon, as most of the surrounding eateries and pubs are just opening their doors to the weekend crowd.

Spacious lobby

Now a quirky and jazzy place with colourful interiors and contemporary furnishings - I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the spacious lobby. There was a zen-like sense of calm in the atmosphere, putting one at ease immediately.

Co-Working Room

Checking with the sweet and friendly front desk lady, I was informed that their facilities include a Co-Working room, a well-equipped Gymnasium, a large Conference Room and even a Meeting Room...perfect for business travellers! Planning a function or event here is also pretty breezy.

The "hotel reviewer" side of me couldn't resist checking out my friend's Double Room as well. Tastefully furnished with ample space for two persons to walk around without bumping into each other (haha), and the bathroom boasts a hot power shower with basic amenities like clean towels, hair dryer, shampoo, etc.

And fret not ~ they do provide in-room WiFi and an electronic safe too. Awesome....

So if you're in town, Sense Hotel is definitely a smart choice for your stay. At the time of writing, they are offering a Super Sense promotion rate of 20% discount, so it won't hurt your wallet either. You'll have extra cash to indulge in all that yummy food you've been craving for....and more ;)

Anyway, long story short - Lola had all her food cravings satisfied that weekend. We laughed, we cried (thanks to the super spicy prawn mee we had at Prima Kopitiam) and we bid each other goodbye, until the next makan session that is.
